Die Association Internationale de la Couleur, AIC ... wird gebildet aus nationalen Organisationen und Einzelpersonen, die zur Pflege des Wissens über alle Aspekte der Farbe zusammenarbeiten. AIC ist die Abkürzung des französischen Namens Association Internationale de la Couleur, Internationale Vereinigung für die Farbe. Die AIC wurde am 21. Juni 1967 in Washington D.C., USA, gegründet. Die Ziele der AIC sind dreifältig: 1. Forschung auf allen Gebieten der
Farbe anzuregen. Es gibt
drei Kategorien der Mitgliedschaft, nämlich reguläre Mitglieder (nationale
Farbvereinigungen), korporative Mitglieder (internationale Verbände) und
Einzelmitglieder
(individuelle Mitglieder ohne
Wahlberechtigung). Reguläre und korporative Mitglieder benennen einen Vertreter,
der sie bei der AIC vertritt.
Einzelmitglieder
sind Personen, die direkt mit der
AIC verbunden sein möchten, auch wenn
sie in einem Land ansässig sind, in welchem
eine nationale Mitgliedsorganisation
existiert. Die AIC organisiert internationale Farbkongresse, welche alle vier Jahre stattfinden. Der erste Internationale AIC Kongress wurde 1969 in Stockholm, Schweden, abgehalten. Der 8. 1997 in Kyoto, Japan, der 9. 2001 in Rochester, N.Y., USA, der 10. AIC Kongress fand 2005 in Granada, Spanien, statt. Die AIC hält neben den Kongressen Interimstagungen zu speziellen Themen in den Mitgliedsländern ab und betreibt auch Studiengruppen, in denen koordinierte Forschung auf verschiedenen Interessengebieten der Farbe erfolgt. London/UK - The Deutscher Verband Farbe (DVF) is the German AIC member organization, representing the FNF of the DIN (German Institute for Standardization), Deutsches Farbenzentrum e.V. (DFZ) and Deutsche farbwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft e.V. (DfwG). At its 2009 assembly, Frank Rochow (DfwG) was re-elected as chairman, Ms. Susanne Wied (DVF) was elected as vice-chair. Published in the AIC-Newsletter 2010 (23), edited by Lindsay MacDonald, London College of Communication.Within DIN various standardization activities were continued, in the fields of Basic Concepts in Colorimetry (DIN 5033-1) and Tolerances in Automotive Paint (DIN 6175-1). The committee FNF 2 focuses on basic colorimetry and tries to keep German standards current and in sync with CIE. Current work has been finished on calibration of colour measurement instruments and also on updated geometrical descriptions of measurement geometries. FNF 24 focuses on colorimetry and tolerances of automotive paint and plans to have visual tests to check and improve the existing standards in a way that the formulae are valid for solid and metallic paint. Further work has been started for interference effect paint. The board of the Deutsches Farbenzentrum (DFZ) consists of Chairman Prof Axel Buether, Vice-Chair Dr Anne-Marie Neser, and Treasurer Susanne Wied. At the member’s meeting during the 35th annual conference of the Deutsche Farbwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft in Berlin, in September, the DfwGChairman Dr. Gerhard Roesler, Vice-Chair Prof Bernhard Hill, Treasurer Dr. Carsten Steckert and Secretary Dipl-Ing Frank Rochow were re-elected. An interesting research paper was given by Dr Peter Bodrogi, S. Brückner and Prof Tran Quoc Khanh of the Lighting Laboratory, TU Darmstadt, on ‘Redefinition of the colour rendering index of today’s light sources’. For use in room lighting applications, white LED light sources show a lack of colour rendering capabilities and luminous efficacy. While luminous efficacy is the principal issue for outdoor applications, indoor lighting requires good colour rendering. Newly developed high power white LED light sources provide good colour rendering based on a well-filled spectrum. During the DfwG-conference, the winner of the "2009-DfwGFörderpreis", Ms Dipl-Ing Katrin Möller, was honoured for her work "Color stabilization on LED-Spotlights, using temperature characteristics and/or a color sensor". The DfwG-Förderpreis, which comes with a 1000 EUR cash prize, is offered to younger colour scientists every two years. The 36 th annual DfwG conference will be held in Darmstadt 6– 8.10.2010. This meeting with the topic "Color Science and its Application in Industry" will be hosted jointly by the Institute of Printing and the Special Field of Lighting. Prof Dörsam and Prof Khanh, both of the Technical University of Darmstadt, will organize the technical programme. The international conference "Colour in Education" offers a platform for open discussion and international comparison of scientific and artistic methods for teaching colour theory, colour practice and colour research. INTERACTION OF COLOUR & LIGHT
IN THE ARTS AND SCIENCES AIC 2011 Midterm Meeting of the International Colour Association (AIC) 7–10 June 2011, Zurich University of the Arts, Zurich, Switzerland Extended Abstract Submission Submit an extended abstract in English in order to participate with an oral paper or a poster presentation in the AIC 2011 Midterm Meeting. The length of the abstract should not be less than 500 nor more than 2000 words following the submission template and guidelines provided at the website www.aic2011.org. Any accepted author is required to participate in the AIC 2011 Midterm Meeting and pay the early registration fee as a full delegate. If multiple, same-single-author abstracts are submitted and accepted, only one will be scheduled for oral or poster presentation. Multiple contributions as a co-author are only possible if another co-author registers, presents the paper and participates in the AIC 2011 conference. Submit only unpublished works. interest is devoted to the interaction of colour & light in today’s
scientific and artistic research communities. New technologies, materials
and media are now being deployed to enhance and stimulate our experience
of daily life in real and virtual, permanent and ephemeral environments.
The aim of the AIC 2011 conference is to explore how the interaction of
colour & light plays a crucial role in the perception, conception and
realization of spaces and platforms in different fields from both a
theoretical and practical point of view. Using terms and concepts such as
appearance, interaction, performance, event, and by privileging the
materiality, mediality and the interactive dimension of colour & light,
the conference presentations should demonstrate how productive the theme
of the Conference Topics and Sub-Topics Submissions will be accepted for consideration in any of the topics mentioned below. Authors are required to name the most relevant topic and sub-topic with respect to their submissions’ content.
